Josie Bello · An unconventional résumé

Who decided that's how it's supposed to be done?

I'm Josie Bello. I ask the questions others might overlook, challenge the way things have always been done, and help leaders turn complicated problems into smarter decisions and meaningful results.

Curious human. Practical thinker. Occasionally the person asking “but why?” in the meeting.

YOUR VISIT, YOUR WAY

Where would you like to start?

No required reading order. Pick what matters to you.

Purpose before process.
Curiosity before conclusions.

I bring creativity to complex business problems, practicality to ambitious ideas, and humanity to difficult decisions.

THE HUMAN

Hello, I'm Josie.

A people and business leader who believes practical creativity and humanity belong in the same conversation.

Professional portrait of Josie Bello

Curious by nature. Practical by design.

I work where business priorities and human realities meet. I enjoy diagnosing complex problems, building strategy with the people involved, and seeing what happens when thoughtful ideas become reality.

I believe people leadership belongs beside operations, finance, and executive leadership, connecting decisions to the people who carry them out.

MY APPROACH

“The data tells me where to look. People help me understand why.”

It's not about having the loudest answer. It's about asking the right questions, understanding constraints, and finding a way forward together.

A LITTLE SOMETHING I BELIEVE

“I don't mind a box. I just like knowing whether the walls can move.”

I believe some of the most valuable solutions begin when we question the limitations we've grown accustomed to.

Structure has purpose. Standards have value. But creativity allows us to see possibilities that routine sometimes hides. Not every process needs reinventing, and not every limitation can be removed. Sometimes the opportunity is in changing the process. Sometimes it's changing our perspective. And sometimes it's realizing we had more room to work with all along.

What doesn't fit on a résumé?

Relationships that continue to grow. Leaders who become independent decision-makers. People who feel heard, even during difficult changes. Those outcomes matter as much as completed projects.

My background spans hospitality, operational services, multi-site and multi-state operations, and international collaboration. I bring experience in HR technology, organizational design, acquisition integration, employee relations, workforce planning, and leadership development.

AN INTERACTIVE THOUGHT EXPERIMENT

Every decision solves something.
What else might it change?

A business problem is rarely just one problem. Let's see what happens when you ask another question.

The problem behind the problem.

Pick a business challenge, make a decision, and discover what else that choice might affect.

THE QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING

You were thinking it.
I figured I'd answer it.

Including the ones you weren't planning to ask.

Frequently unasked questions.

Some things don't fit into a résumé. Others are simply more fun to answer here.

TRANSFERABLE EXPERIENCE

Beyond one industry.

Different environments. Familiar business challenges.

People, operations, and outcomes connect everywhere.

Hospitality taught me the connection between employee experience, operations, service, and revenue. Operational services taught me distributed team management, labor planning, and the value of practical technology. These lessons can transfer to retail, service organizations, and other labor-intensive businesses without assuming the industries are identical.

Hospitality → Retail & customer service

Frontline leadership, staffing, training, customer experience, and retention affect performance across these environments.

Operational services → Distributed workforces

Multi-site operations, hourly workforce planning, recruiting workflows, and consistent reporting create familiar challenges across sectors.

Acquisition integration → Business transformation

Policy alignment, leadership expectations, employee communication, and cultural integration matter regardless of industry.

HR technology → Organizational efficiency

Automation, data visibility, and thoughtful process design make teams more effective in many kinds of organizations.
